Many apologies for there being no preview for the Huddersfield game. Al has been taken outside and beaten severely.

The defending is actually getting worse. I thought we had hit rock bottom defending wise but yesterdays display by our central defenders must be an all time low. We actually have enough going forward to mount an attempt at promotion, but all is being jeopardised by central defenders who are the worst I have seen in 36 years watching the Wanderers. I feel sorry for Eddie Davies who trusted a decent man such as Owen Coyle with building a team for us, but he assembled the most inept, clumsy and useless bunch of clowns across the back in living memory. This isn't Dougie Freedmans fault and hopefully he will be given the funds to get a couple of central defenders in come January.

the last 6 results polarise the difficulties, 7 points from 18, unable to score more than 1 or 2 goals per game while failing to keep a clean sheet in any, well below what is needed to climb up this league. Freedman may have halted the rot but he will need fastly improved results after christmas if we are to get close to where they want to be. I agree with the above comment, O.C. for whatever reasons decimated the team, injuries to key players did not help and apart from Eagles none of his signings have yet had real impact. Gartside is equally cupable, his stubborn loyalty to Coyle and his earlier judgements have also been damaging to the club - assuming at the time he forced big Sam out through the door by failing to support him, albeit there may have been an impass regarding the high wage bill though we have witnessed the folly in the vision linked to that policy. Unless you already have young talent on low wages you will not attract the good players by refusing to compete financially in the open market. The fans will never know who pulled the strings between Gartside & E. Davies during that period, none the less, history has proven it has had a catastrophic impact. I can only hope Santa Claus is kind to the club.

I agree with Aussie Mike and the 7 points from 18 would be much more but for the abysmal central defenders. it is no wonder the keeper is on edge and I believe they are also putting the rest of the side under further strain by their inadequacies in the art of defending. Ream and Knight are total liabilities and need to be replaced as soon as possible, this act alone will make us a better team, even if we didn't replace them!

It's a sad day when BWFC fans are saying a point away at Huddersfield is ok. It's not. Primary job of back 4 is to stop opposition scoring. I know modern full backs are more supplementary attackers than defenders but not below PL level. Championship and below defenders are in there to defend. Ours don't seem to be able to do that. We can't kil games off by scoring a decent number of goals (2+) from multiple chances scored; we need some proper strikers. Sad indictment when SKD is still our top striker. What is the point of employing Ngog, Afobe and Sordell and presumably paying them barrow loads of cash? In any other sphere of work they would be sacked for being rubbish at their job. So sell the lot and get some players in who can actually put the ball in the net. Back four incompetence has knock-on effect on rest of team. Midfield and strikers can't do their job if they have no confidence in the likes of Knight, Ream and Mills in central defence. as they are constantly having to think about doing a job which is not what they are on the pitch to do. Yes things are a bit better under DF than OC but in reality not a lot better. We are still down the bottom end of the table and not got a lot of points under DF. Only conclusion is a top down clear-out/re-organisation of the whole outfit and a total re-think by Eddie Davis. The whole corporate mindset seems wrong. Got to be a replacement for Gartside. There just seems to be an acceptance of mediocrity now besetting the club. Oh and the need to buy an attack and a defence...and hope Holden comes back to provide a midfield. And just give Dazza to somebody. I reckon at 53 years old I could have put more chances away than Ngog.

How much do we need Wheater and Holden back!? And since they are not scheduled to be back before end of January window we need to get players in and a few out who are not up to it.
