Moxey Is Rubbish, But He Has Rights

Moxey Is Rubbish, But He Has Rights
It`s fun supporting Bolton. No sooner we can feel a bit better about the club having brought in a new player, over the weekend the issue of players not getting paid started to rear its ugly head again.
There were some reports in the Sun, that I didn`t read, because it`s the Sun, but most would have been alerted to Dean Moxey airing his grievances in public via Twitter. Incidentally, everything should be sorted out in the morning, which should be good news and we can start to move on, likewise any other players who may have been owed bonuses.
Moxey then got some responses from Bolton fans, along the lines of being not very good at football and that he was stealing a living. They have a point. At times he was awful, and despite the desire for him and his family to move closer to his South West roots, there is a lot in the fact he will plying his trade in League Two come August.

But that really is not the point. If you`re a contracted employee of a club, you deserved to be paid, nay, legally entitled to be paid as per what your contact says, including bonuses. Even if it`s the £12k a week Lee Anderson quoted, and that raises another point on whether salaries should be released in isolation - maybe a MLS-style total disclosure of salaries and breakdowns would be preferable, but not singling out what really should be a private issue.
Even if he is rubbish at football.

At the end of the day, whatever job you work in, if you don't get paid what you're owned, you would be on to the relevant parties very quickly. And you would have every right to do so.

Nevertheless, looking at the bigger picture, it likely means we`re still a while away from getting rid of that embargo and being able to operate like a normal football club. Which is especially unfortunate, as the current setup from chairman from manager has seemed pretty adept at getting together the right blend of players to achieve stuff.
