BWFC: Need Over Luxury?
How`s the International Break working out for you? Did you feel lost yesterday with no Whites` game to watch or listen to? I certainly did. I resorted to watching TV all day but wished I hadn`t. The TV schedule on a Saturday with no football to enjoy is dire! Strictly Come Dancing is what it is. It`s a bunch of 'celebrities` with limited dancing experience, attempting Ballroom or Latin routines, either expertly, comically, sexily or just downright dreadful… nothing more, nothing less. But during the 133 minute episode of the X Factor- which 132 of those minutes seemed to be taken by adverts, judges and Dermot O`Dreary`s yapping- Nicole Sherz-something, actually stated, one of Gary 'Sell-out` Barlow`s acts wouldn`t be just superstars, but international superstars. People don`t believe this tripe, do they? Unfortunately, I suspect the sheeple will believe every word that those murderers of music say. Sad, so sad.
Back to football and an interesting story is making the rounds. As fans rise and shine, make a brew, pop bread in the toaster, unravel the Sunday paper and deliberate regret to watching the night`s previous X Factor, they will read an audacious move by Dougie Freedman. Apparently, the Bolton boss is planning a raid at Old Trafford to take his old charge, Wilfred Zaha from the Utd reserves.
After big things were hoped for the former Eagles` winger, Wilfred`s career has regressed since his big-money move. The emergence of wonder boy, Adnan Januzaj- and Moyes's obvious desire to use him- has pushed Zaha a place further out of the queue for a game.
It is reported, Freedman would take Zaha for a month- or more- if it helps his club, United and the player at a difficult time.
Obviously, Dougie has had a rough start to the season himself but landing Zaha would give his new-look side another shot in the arm.
Things must be bad for Zaha, when rumours swirl stating, he may not even make the team for the Capital One Cup squad.
What do you think? I know from the poll percentages, a striker and a centre-back are still no.1 and no.2 priorities amongst Wanderers` supporters. But, if the chance to take Wilfred arose for Bolton, would we be daft to overlook it? Or should we stick to recruiting need over luxury?
