BWFC: Yes You Can

Great comments on the last article, guys. Seriously, this is Premier League commenting for a fan-forum site. I honestly believe this is the reason you Bolton Wanderers` supporters- especially you Vital Bolton supporters- suffer so much, it`s because you have plenty of the grey-matter between the ears. Other than the fact you support Bolton Wanderers, of course.

So, while the England divas play out underwhelming games, why don`t you give your extensive football brains a workout by writing an article for the Vital Bolton site?

It doesn`t have to be a long piece and if you`re worried about grammar or wording, I will give it the once-over before it gets presented to the Vital Bolton nation.

Don`t tell me you can`t, because those comments tell me you absolutely can.

Get cracking; we need all the entertainment we can get while the International break sends us all to sleep.

In the meantime...team selection. Defense pretty much picks itself at the moment. Beckford with a goal finally under his belt is first choice up front. Slowly a system is evolving to knit together the disparate elements of our squad. The Dawson debate was spot on; his arrival was a sticking plaster, albeit a very adhesive and cohesive one. His departure has shone a bright light on our deficiencies. Midfield is clearly a thorny issue both in terms of systems and personnel. The former to an extent depends on philosophy; do you pick your best XI and challenge the oppo to cope with it or tinker with the set-up to counter them? As for personnel I guess that rather depends on the answer to that question. It also depends on things like form and fitness. We all have our views and theories and belief in our own rectitude but DF is the man with whom the selection buck stops. As with most managers it is very difficult to second guess either his line-up or his tactics a lot of the time (and this season even harder to tell whether the chosen few have remembered the latter on crossing the whitewash). I hope for all our sakes that my previous statement is true and the gaffer is inching closer to a winning plan either by luck or judgement, who cares which frankly as long as we continue our scramble up the Championship greasy pole.

Bolton Sign Off At Home With Win

Bolton won their final home game of the season yesterday as Stephen Dobbie's second half goal gave Wanderers a victory over playoff-bound Hull City.

The Whites' big chance of the first half fell to Darren Pratley, who was just six yards from goal but still managed to find himself being denied by goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic, before Zach Clough's effort was blocked.

The captain then did himself few favours farcically going over in the penalty area when anyone could see he hadn't been
