BWFC Guest Article: We All Want The Same Thing.

Ray Finkle is back with a guest piece. It seems even fans across the pond want Knight to vacate the Reebok. Here's an outline of Finkle's view, how he sees it. Thanks again...

Crazy thought: Tierney, Wheater, Baptiste, Ream at the back.

Right footed players end up on the left all of the time, but of the 3 left footers, 2 happen to be defenders. Not to suggest that Tim Ream is the solution at right back, but he is quick enough to get back, and plays a nice outlet. Smooth foot skills, paired with a winger that will get wide to open lanes, it could open the field up for the movement needed to create chances, as long as the midfield is willing to run and cover each other.

Medo/Spearing protect against the counter attack, creativity in the middle through Moritz/Eagles, and more angle play through Lee/Hall on the right. One striker with any luck should find the opportunity and take it. Give any of 'em a shot, whoever takes theirs, go with it. Wide play stretches the defence, but it by no means says you have to play high crosses. What`s the point, we have no true aerial threat in any of our strikers, aside from Eaves, and he's probably at the bottom of the pecking order.

Medo and Spearing have both shown their ability to unleash a thunderbolt, hitting the net should come (sometimes you have to be optimistic). If they actually push the opposing defences back on their heals, the 2 should be able to pin them back, and find more opportunities at goal.

It`s time to make the opposing teams` back-lines think about movement. I am a glass half empty type of person; hoping loan moves are made that assess the deficiencies clear to everyone. It`s been asked, what to do with the squad? This very well may not be the answer, but...it gets Knight away from the squad, which seems to be every ones current priority

'Tierney, Wheater, Baptiste, Ream'...couldnt agree more, Wheater hasnt been great, but its a long way back from injury, especially of the kind he had and im sure hes almost there.

Sorry guys but your faith in Wheater is admirable but I fear misplaced. I would rather have ream in the middle with Mears on the right. I know we lack height then but I think a more considered build up would come from that four rather than the hoof and hope we seem to have returned to recently.

I think any solution that involves not having Mears and Knight in the team needs to be considered, these are the two weakest links I think. Take the point about a more considered build up though, a real shame Joe Riley isn't fit as he would walk into the team right now!

Tomorrow Bolton Wanderers bring down the home curtain of a horrible, horrible season as they host Hull City in the televised lunchtime kickoff.

This could have meant something for the visitors,

Who Will Bolton Face In 2016/17 (26/4/16)

With less than a handful of games remaining in the 2015/16 campaign, some promotions and relegations in the football pyramid are already known.

Bolton Denied By Late Penalty At Cardiff

Bolton fell to a very late defeat, conceeding a 93rd minute Peter Whittingham penalty at the Cardiff City Stadium, in a game which they for the most part had to play with ten men.

Early on Emile Heskey, who has started the last three games, was brough down by Lee Peltier. The free kick was given.

From that set-piece Bolton then went into a lead away for home for the first time since October when Zach Clough curled it into the top corner to make the 270 or so travelling Wanderers fa
