Bolton Wanderers Deadline Day Spectacular

Bolton Wanderers Deadline Day Spectacular
16:27- Afternoon everyone. So, with me not waking up until 3pm, and Twitter dying on the most important day OF THE YEAR, I thought I'd have missed something concrete to give you. I have not.

I'll update this page as and when something happens, and when Twitter inevitably dies again. So far, all rumours, but the Medo deal looks almost certain. Don't know much about the lad, but we need options in central midfield, especially when Spearing returns to Liverpool in the summer. If Spurs were after him last year, he must be worth a 300k punt.

Alonso is wanted by several parties, but we'll see...

16:48 - Just seen that Louis Saha has left Sunderland by mutual consent. Surely we could offer him a short term, pay-as-you-play deal?

18:20 - So, this is currently less interesting than I thought. With that in mind, who should we be looking at? Comments below Vital readers!

18:52 - So Stephen Warnock has moved to Leeds on a free transfer. A shame; it would have been great to get him back. However, good news in the left back department is the closing of the Italian transfer window, meaning that Marcos Alonso cannot complete a move to Fiorentina. Also, a Medo medical is underway.

19:13 - Michael O'Halloran is staying at Tranmere for the rest of the season. He can stay there; he's hardly setting the world alight, and I doubt he'll make it with us any time in the near future.

It also looks like we've signed young defender Cian Bolger. More when this is confirmed.

20:29 - Right, I'm back from the shop, and we've signed 20-year old Bolger from Leicester. Looks like one for the future, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him given a chance before the end of the season. Especially if we don't sign another defender by midnight. Medo deal still not done.

20:36 Afobe has gone back to Arsenal apparently.

YYYYEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

21:57 - It looks like we have signed Steve De Ridder on an initial one-month loan deal from Southampton. I have never heard of him, although that doesn't necessarily mean he won't do a good job for us. We've needed a winger since Petrov left, and whilst this probably isn't the player we wanted, it may be the one we need.

22:32 - Sorry everyone, quite distracted by the Stokies on the telly. Just look at them! Oh, and the Medo Kamara deal is DONE! Let's hope he's as good as he's being made out to be. Half an hour to go.......

23:10 - WINDOW CLOSED! A very productive transfer window for the Whites is over. Dougie has managed to get rid of a bit of the deadwood left over from the Coyle regime; whilst bringing in players that can not only help in the future, but can contribute to a late push towards the playoff places. COYWM, and goodnight!

Luis Saha yes please. What is the chance of that. I think he would be worth a six month maybe even twelve month contract.

Ngog linked with Fulham. Only a loan deal though, I would rather keep him personally than loan him.

Definately a let down so far. Medo just waiting on paperwork as is Bolger I believe. Not heard anything else but a winger is a must I would say. Oh ml dons are after Sordell can't see that.

Away from transfer news I see Afobe has been called up to the u21s and Sordell left out! I can only assume that pearce has not seen anything of Bolton this year. I'm quite happy Sordell isn't going as it keeps him fresh for us and he won't get injured. However why on earth Afobe keeps getting game time for us let alone a call up I don't know.

Bolton Win At Shrewsbury

Second half goals from Mark Beevers and Adam Le Fondre, coupled with draws for Sheffield United and Fleetwood, handed Bolton a massive advantage in the race for automatic promotion, and whisper it, just four points off the Blades. It had been a tricky first half away to Shrewsbury, but those two goals in the second half managed to get us the three points and a clean sheet. It could come at a price though, as all three substitutions were made because of injuries.
