Referee:

I woke up this morning in a good mood, before quickly realising I had to write something about yesterday`s 5-1 defeat at the dogs. Anyway, they have to live in Wolverhampton, so who are the real winners?

Anyway, while a team who has just been promoted can lose heavily away to a team that looks like hot favourites to get promoted to the Premier League, and should be noted beat Leeds 4-1 the other day, one of the most disappointing aspects of yesterday`s performance is that a lot of it was entirely self-inflicted. We only held out 13 minutes before we went behind, two of the goals can be directly attributed to Ben Alnwick, while Karl Henry and David Wheater in particular where almost liabilities out on the pitch (I think it was Wheater whose challenge sparked the manager clash, I feared the worst at the time in Bolton keeping 11 on the pitch. But Wolves, we can assault your players. Have you learnt nothing?).

Sunderland`s win means we`re bottom once again too, but the gap to safety remains three points after Birmingham annoyingly got a point at Sheffield United.

There was some talk on Twitter last night calling for Phil Parkinson to go. For me, not just yet. We have a run of three games now - Barnsley at home, Forest away, Burton at home. Anything less than four points from that, and that target might be being kind, could leave us with a bigger gap to bridge, and while it does need to be said that this squad really isn`t up to much in the context of the Championship, it did have a shout of being organised and hard to score against. We`ve kept two clean sheets.

He does need to look at himself, namely when subs are made, ways to try and keep the ball in midfield when we have a lead - this may not be truly fixed until we get to the window and sign a good technical midfielder or two, and maybe look at someone on the left other than Armstrong (who hasn`t done awfully in the last four games, but why not actually play a wide man there?)

Star Player

Gary Madine - Assisted for the goal, and was at least an outlet. That`s as good as it was getting.
