Bolton vs. Portsmouth

Reebok Stadium

20th December 2008

Time to Make Amends Mr T

Bolton face Portsmouth at the Reebok with former player Matt Taylor having some atoning do after missing a hat-trick of sitters in last season`s encounter.

Vital Quotes:

'We need to be strong and to die for the cause to get some points on Saturday.`

Portsmouth manager Captain Beaky anticipates a hard time. It used to be said that the Reebok was a tough place to come, but not even Arsene Wenger claimed there had been fatalities.

Bolton Team News:

Tamir Cohen and Joey O'Brien are missing with thigh injuries. Otherwise there's a clean bill of health

Player to watch: Matt Taylor

Missed a sitter against Aston Villa, so he'll score this week. At least he'd better. Piece of cake this management lark.

Portsmouth Team News:

Younes Kaboul and John Utaka are missing and Armand Traore is doubtful. He's got hamstring injury as well.

Lassana Diarra is unlikely to feature, as he's off to sunny Spain.

Player to watch: Jermain Defoe

'Arry bought beanpole Peter Crouch to deflect attention from the 4 ft 6 inch Defoe. Very cunning.

Match Facts & Stats

Portsmouth did the double last season. An easy 3-1 victory at Fratton Park, thanks mainly to Gerald 'Hissing' Cid and a scabby 1-0 at the Reebok.

Match Prediction:

An early present for the Ginger One, with a comfortable victory for the Whites.

Next Fixtures:

Liverpool (A) - Easy

Richard 'Mystic Meg' McCormick! Looks like Taylor wanted to impress you by scoring within a minute to make up for last week.
