Villa v Villa Rejects

Aston Villa
vs.
Bolton Wanderers

Villa Park

13th December

3 pm

Bolton travel to Aston Villa, scene of last season`s low point, with three ex-Villa players likely to be in the line up. Gary Cahill, Gavin McCann and Jlloyd Samuel have all made creditable contributions this season. Who`d have thought that would be written about J-Lo?

Vital Quotes:

'I think if anybody is going to break the domination of the so-called "big four" then Aston Villa have got as good of a chance as anybody. They seem to have the financial backing from Mr Lerner in America, they've got an excellent manager and coaching staff, have made some terrific signings and have got a top class squad.`

Gary Megson bigs up the opposition. A cunning psychological ploy or maybe he just can`t keep his gob shut.

Aston Villa Team News:

James Milner is battling to overcome a bout of man flu and nightclubber John Carew has a back injury. Rumours that he got it body popping on the dance floor have yet to draw comment.

Player to watch: Marlo Stansfield

AKA Ashley Young. Most thought that Martin O`Neill was bonkers to pay £9 million to Watford for the striker, but it seems money well spent now. Young has fitted in well, especially as he has to commute to West Baltimore to fulfil the commitments of his other job.

Those readers who haven`t seen HBO drama series, The Wire will have been completely bypassed by that last sentence. There might just be a DVD box set on E-Bay next week. Treat yourself for Christmas

Bolton Wanderers Team News:

Joey O'Brien and Tamir Cohen are long time absentees. Apart from that the Ginger One has a full, if small, squad to select from.

Player to watch: Johan Elmander

Elmo's on fire. Especially away from home. Just ask Roy Keane. You'll probably have to do that by text message if Niall Quinn's experience is anything to go by.

Match Facts & Stats

Villa Park isn't a happy hunting ground for the Whites. The victory there in 2006 was only the second since 1958.

Next Fixtures:

Portsmouth (H)

Another win onn the road against a team playing in Pink and powder blue. As for Ashley Young its all wind and pi5s. Bomb down the wing with very little on the end of it. Villa will not score against us this weekend, I dont know if anyone has noticed they dont have a striker? Loads of pace up both wings but absolutely nothing in the shape of a striker.

Shut up Tomog, looking forward to see you eating your words tomorrow evening! Ashley Young was in the prem team of the year last season for providing the most assists "Bomb down the wing with very little on the end of it. " You're a moron, hope you put that bet on at the bookies that you mentioned, people like you don't deserve to have money! I like Gary Cahill though, good player, good luck for the rest of the season Bolton!!

tomog is right. Ashley Young was $hit against Everton, especially that move at the end. What was he thinking!

Tomog - I always had a soft spot for Bolton, enhanced in recent times by the aquisition of Gary Cahill and Gavin McCann who were excellent servants to Villa, but your ludicrously ignorant comments might affect things. Pink? Get some glasses. No striker? The quickest young striker in the league who has three more goals than either Davies or Elmander(he put one past you in the 56th minute last season). And as much as I like Gary Cahill, Gabby and Ashley may well expose his serious lack of pace tomorrow. I'll hold you to that "few quid" you are putting on the league finishes. Idiot.

Tomog, I usually like your posts but you're way off the mark with the Ashley Young comments. I like a bit of opposition baiting as much as the next man, but you need to make your comments at least half-credible. Next time, maybe pick on Zat Knight, Nigel Reo-Coker or Luke Young.

Ha ha ha, Tomog, you have proved that your knowledge of football is as p*ss poor as the pathetic 'show' they put on in Bolton (eg those crappy fireworks as the players come out and the eijits with flags - jesus, how to make your club look like idiots!). Anyway, I digress. Lets look at your comments. "Another win onn the road against a team playing in Pink and powder blue." WRONG - think you'll find you got spanked 4-2. NEXT! "As for Ashley Young its all wind and pi5s. Bomb down the wing with very little on the end of it." HA HA HA WRONG! There was some wind and pi5s, but the wind was what your defenders felt as he ghosted past them like they weren't there and the pi5s was what he took out of them while setting up Gabby for his second. Not to mention his goal!. NEXT! "Villa will not score against us this weekend," WRONG, think you'll find we slotted 4 past your sorry excuse for a team. NEXT! "I dont know if anyone has noticed they dont have a striker? Loads of pace up both wings but absolutely nothing in the shape of a striker." WRONG! Gabby has now scored 9 league goals - yes 9 league goals. More than 1 in every 2 games. Obviously he can't be a striker, no never. Oh well, enjoy the season while it lasts, on this performance it could be ur last, and I'm sorry mate but if you go down I don't see you back in the top flight soon. Have fun back in your dirty little small town somewhere up north. UTV!
