Spurs vs. Bolton

White Hart Lane

26th April 2008

Rasiak's a Football Genius

Bolton travel to Tottenham on Saturday, with the attack spearheaded (if that`s the right word) by former Spurs player Grzegorz Rasiak. No, it`s not the right word is it? A spearhead is sharp, fast moving and usually causes damage.

Vital Quotes:

'When you look at the games Fulham, Birmingham, ourselves and Reading have got I think you would probably look and say that Birmingham are favourites in this relegation battle to stay up.`

Mystic Megson brims with confidence.

Spurs Team News:

Fatty Robinson may be back in goal. This is good news. For Bolton.

Pascal Chimbonda (calf) and Jonathan Woodgate (ankle) may also be in contention. Gareth Bale and Benoit Assou-Ekotto are out for the rest of the season. Ledley King is out for the rest of his life.

Player to watch: Aaron Lennon

Lennon v Jlloyd Samuel. There should be rules against that sort of mismatch. Maybe young Aaron will go out on the razz tonight. You can only hope.

Bolton Team News:

Nicky Hunt (shoulder), Jussi Jaaskelainen (back) and Ricardo Gardner (ribs) are out for the season. Notice how those injuries progress down the body. The next season terminating injury will be eye-watering in more ways than one.

Player to watch: Grzegorz Rasiak.

Who else? Some might think that those luminous green boots he wears are an attempt to be flash. This isn`t so. He moonlights as a cats eye on the M61 next to the Reebok after games. Rasiak is phenomenon and not in a good way. The only footballer playing today who runs as if he`s wearing diving boots. On the plus side, if you've got a dripping tap, he's your man.

Almost certain to score now.

Match Facts & Stats

One more win for Bolton will take them into double figure for victories at the Lane. Best to keep quiet about the 24 times they`ve lost.

Next Fixtures:

Sunderland (H)

Lets face it, Bolton need the win a lot more than we do ergo, they WILL more than likely win it. We've been so dull in recent weeks.

Reckon the game will be a 5 goal thriller.

good pre-match lol. nice to see a team who can have a laugh :) got it right about Rasiak, always good to have a Pole around... never know when u might need a wall constructed or the grass cut at the reebok. As for the game itself, thought Bolton did exactly what they needed to do and commend them for doing so. However, and a lot of you will not like it, I will comment on the gulf in class between the sides! It was never that much under Big Sam, I can't understand what's happened up there lads? You are the team we would all sit down and cheer for whenever you had Ar5ena1 or Chelsea or West ham because there was a genuine threat you would comfortably brush them aside as you did to us on many occasions. Big problems there guys, hope you stay up and fix the leaks... We are in the same boat here. Although we are safe and in Europe again next season, this has been a real eye-opener season by all accounts that we aren't as good as people think we are. For all our possession, you'd think we were a side competing for the title but we lack that killer instinct to kill off teams that Arsenal, Chelsea and United all have - not so much Liverpool. Great news for us signing Luka Modric but I imagine it's at the cost of a certain sulky Bulgarian footballing genius, but hey, at the end of the day, he's good but he's not irreplacable!
ExiL
A fair summation Exil. The bottom line is that we have too many players who are past it or not good enough. There's a massive rebuilding task to do.
