Bolton vs. Massive Man City

Reebok Stadium

22nd March 2008

Bolton v The Massives

Bolton face their third local derby in a week as Massive Man City visit the Reebok. They're a big club you know.

Vital Quotes:

'We're doomed, I tell you, doomed.'

Bolton fans are not happy.

Bolton Team News:

If Gary Cahill is still injured, Gretar Steinsson will play at centre back, as Abdoulaye Meite has thrown his teddy in the corner and been banished for ever. This leaves the right back berth for Nicky Hunt. Kevin Nolan may play despite not being fully fit. When is he ever?

Player to watch: Joey O'Brien

Getting close to full fitness and making the midfield holding role his own. His hair gets curlier with every game. This is odd.

Massive Man City Team News:

Micah Richards and Michael Ball are absent with knee injuries and Dietmar Hamann is still suspended, so he'll have time to pop into McDonalds. Richard Dunne will play, which is good, as he usually cocks something up. Martin Petrov returns from suspension. Not good.

Player to watch: Martin Petrov

Elano gets the plaudits, but it's Petrov who makes City tick.

Match Facts & Stats

The sides are tied on 40 wins each in league games.

Ref Watch:

Andre Marriner. The Ancient Mariner would do a better job.

When you have to claim that you're a big club it means that you arent. Man City are not a big club.

what defines a big club then snout, city are in the top 20 richest clubs in europe, turnover wise, even before thaksin took over. along with one of the biggest support in the league. we are massive compared to the likes of bolton lol. the bolton 'massive' suffer from an inferiority complex, you have a great problem with us becasue we bring better support to your meccano stadium than you do, and actually come to play football, not kick teams off the park, of course were far 'bigger' than you.

City fans really are thick as two planks. Bolton fans know we're not a big club and it doesn't matter a jot. If you tell a City fan they're not a big club, they go into hysterics, as you've done. Big clubs win things occasionally or at least come close. City haven't done for donkey's years despite spending barrow loads of money. The club is a joke, as is the idea that City play good football. Where were your fans last season eh? Wigan brought more fans than you lot. Are you still playing crowds noises over the tannoy at the Council of Manchester Stadium?
Snout
bit of a rivalry there then :-)
