Bolton Handed Sheff Wed Test

Bolton Handed Sheff Wed Test

Bolton have handed a home tie against Sheffield Wednesday in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

In all likelihood, the tie will be played on Tuesday 22nd August, although this will be confirmed in due course by the clubs and EFL.

The draw was regionalised and seeded, which restricted us to drawing a middling-to-lower Premier League team, of which 13 enter at this stage, or a Championship club from the north or Midlands.

It's a fairly tricky tie, and a lot depends on the teams fielded, but Wednesday came unstuck at Preston on Saturday, so the game is definitely winnable.

I wouldn't expect the match to be shown live on Sky. They get to pick two ties, and my money would be on them selecting Blackburn v Burnley (what a tie to be fair) and Cheltenham v West Ham.
