Bolton Sign Will Buckley

Yesterday we briefly discussed the possibility of Bolton signing Will Buckley and as if by magic, today we secured the player on a two year contract. Predominately a right-winger, he can do a job on the left or in a more central, attacking position.

He will have to rebuild a stalling reputation though. There should be no doubt that Buckley is a very capable player at this level and should be seen as a decent signing. After spells with Rochdale and Watford, he really came to prominence after a move to Brighton in 2011, helping the Seagulls into the Championship and becoming a decent side in that division. That earned him a move along with manager Gus Poyet to Sunderland, but as ever the Stadium of Light has proved to be a career graveyard and Buckley`s career stumbled there, only making 22 appearances, an injury-hit few years including loans out to Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham.

His recent form doesn`t bode well, but he seems to have the ability, It`s just a hope of keeping him fit and hoping the stability of a permanent move to a club where he will get opportunities will work.
