Team News: Bolton v Nottingham Forest

Bolton return to the Macron Stadium this weekend for a first home game on the 2014/15 championship season.

Nottingham Forest will be looking to inflict a little more misery on Bolton on Saturday, as we look to bounce back from the three-nil opening day defeat at Watford last weekend.

Dean Moxey missed the league cup win over Bury in midweek and is an injury doubt again.

Mark Davies (toe) and Marc Tierney (broken leg) are both recovering from injuries but are also doubts and unlikely to be fit.

Nottingham Forest are without Michael Mancienne (suspension) with Kelvin Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, Henri Lansbury and David Vaughan all recovering from injures but absent again.

The game ended one-one here last season but you have to go back to 2001 in the league cup for the last Bolton win at home against Forest.

Will this weekend be better for Bolton?

Mr Ecky and Nicky Crompton are still, for now, having a staff writer to help fill in!

I hope Mr Ecky is progressing with his recovery, best wishes as always that are equally extended to his family. My kind regards to robmoss and moonpig whom I hope will hit this page with a defiant statement once our beloved team produces a successful performance brimming with positives. Unable to suggest when that will happen albeit the law of averages could give an answer. I don't expect to see it occur today but stranger things have taken place.

Couldn't go today, so just checking out the reports. Sounds like we were much better in the first half but found out tactically in the second. I'm delighted we got a point, which after the last two performances I didn't really expect. Good to see Mason off the mark and by the sound of it linking up reasonably with CD. Let's hope we can build on this on Tuesday and importantly start quickly out of the blocks. Not too much tinkering please Douglas...

Chung Yong Lee was particularly good today according to the Twitter. Mason and c.Davies linking well and Wheater solid at the back. Wasn't there either though.

I was there and it was much better than Tuesday. Having said that, it couldn't have been much worse! Bogdan and the two full-backs were solid. Wheater had a good game, but Mills for me was shaky. Medo was absolutely terrible. He didn't appear to know what his role was and consequently was caught in no-man's land a number of times. Also, his distribution was below par. I don't like to see him playing alongside Spearing because they have a similar game. I would like to see Vela get a game when fit. Chungy and Danns tried hard and the two lads up front did very well. But we are still devoid of a player who can put his foot on the ball and dictate things. If we had someone like Reid of Forest, he could make such a difference to our overall performance. We need a credible outlet to be available and to create chances.

Davies was excellent and in Mason had someone who finally seemed to be able to pick up knock downs etc. This meant we weren't defending constantly. More of the same on Tuesday please.

Man of the match performance from CYL, he was superb, particularly in the first half. He's regained that I-will-nick-the-ball-off-you attitude that made him such a handful in the Premiership but which sadly disappeared after his ridiculous pre-season injury. Medo was awful and the team was crying out for Mark Davies to replace him - we really need some guile and creativity in there to make more good chances. Forest looked panicked, desperate and impatient. There was no build-up to anything they did, they just ran towards the goal and tried thumping it - I guess that's Psycho's influence there. Apart from Medo and Spearing's disastrous decision that led to their penalty, I thought we were better everywhere on the pitch than Forest were.
