Loanee Striker Keen To Stay

Lukas Jutkiewicz is on loan with Bolton until the end of the season but is already looking to the summer and a potential permanent transfer.

The striker still has two-years left on his Middlesbrough contract though so a fee would have to be agreed between the two sides if he is going to make the Reebok Stadium a permanent home this summer.

When the 24-year-old came to Bolton on loan until the end of the season it wasn't a loan 'with the view to a permanent deal' with it not out of the question that he isn't going to go back to the Riverside, however staying is something he'd like if possible.

Jutkiewicz told the Bolton Evening News: 'I have not had any talks yet - I leave the talking to everyone else, to be honest but I am enjoying it here and would love to stay here for longer than my loan period.

'Straight away I felt comfortable at Bolton and it feels like a good place for me. I would really like to organise something that will allow me to stay for longer.

'I am here until the end of the season so hopefully we can sort something out to make it go longer.

He's revealed plenty of support for him from Middlesbrough fans on Twitter but feels it is a 'better fit' for him with Bolton, so it might be better for him to stay at the Reebok.

The support is something he has appreciated mind, adding: 'It's a strange one and sometimes things don't work out for whatever reason at some places. It just seems to be a better fit here but I have had numerous Middlesbrough fans writing on Twitter about it.

'They have been really supportive.'

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he's currently not well, he'll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he's got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.

Let's hope his form continues and a deal can be done. My son was speaking to him a couple of weeks ago and he said then he wanted to stay. He had plenty of time to stop and chat too which is nice. He said the positivity in the squad was improving week by week which has to be a good thing.

I'll second that, Gav. The manager has been quick to praise the defence over the last few matches, but having this guy up front must be heaven for the lads behind. For a change, the ball doesn't keep coming back at them. He could be the new SKD, with better technical ability. I've always liked Mason as well. He's got good control, he's quick, with an eye for goal. They play well together. Unfortunately, he maybe too costly for us at the moment.
