'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Will the Last Person to Leave Turn the Light Out?

Fans of Burnley FC, still peeved at the defection of Owen Coyle, have been rocked further by the departures of assistant Sandy Stewart, coaches John Henry, Phil Hughes and Steve Davis and chief scout Cliff Roberts, who are to join Coyle at Bolton.

If speculation is to be believed (which hopefully it isn`t) Chris Eagles and David Nugent will be on their way to the Reebok. Prospective loanee, Jack Wilshire, from Arsenal. may also leave Turf Moor before he`s even arrived.

Burnley have appointed Martin Dobson (once on the books at Bolton) to look after team affairs, because he`s one of the few people left. Dobson last managed 19 years ago before being sacked by Bristol Rovers.

Barry Kilby and Brendan Flood remain in situ. For the moment, at least.

Oh dear - they're not a happy bunch over on vital Burnley.

Well. I am very very optomistic for the future of BWFC over the coming 2-3 seasons. But, I really feel for Burnley FC. What has happened is not nice at all. Having listened to OC on Skysports he has tried to explain why he left, its a fair enough reason but it won't help Burnley. I know how we felt when Bruce Rioch went to Arsenal but a least that was close season to give us time to get sorted. Also a word on Gary Megson. Nobody should be treated the way he was. I didn't agree with his tactics but he was the Manager at the time and we should support our own. Let us not forget what Gary and his team have done for BWFC both behind the scenes and with player recruitment. Not all fantastic signings but in Cahill, Steinson, Klasnic and hopefully Lee we have great players who OC will encourage to the next level On a final note, let us as Bolton Fans support our team in droves. make the Reebok a fortress once more and move forward united as a club across all levels.

Great post BB.

Supporting someone who is taking you to disaster is never a wise move. Should the fans have blindly supported Megson all the way to relegation and not reacted when told they didn't know anything about football? I don't think so.

It was hard to support a manager who disliked the fans (but most did try). He got some great players in, the football was pretty alright, but he never connected to the club. OC will fill the criteria of playing good football and connecting with the fans and club, good times.
