Nolan: Baby, I was Born to Score

Having been more than critical of Kevin Nolan on this site, it`s only fair to point out that his performances have improved lately. He was pretty good against Everton and very good against Manchester City. It`s a pity he has to spoil things by opening his gob.

The Reebok`s adopted scouser hasn`t hit the net this season, not with the ball anyway, but he`s confident of changing that in the near future.

'I've had a few good chances to score and perhaps I should have against Manchester City and Newcastle, but I know the goals will come because I believe I was one of those players who was born to score goals,` he told BWFC`s offal site.

Maybe Kev has been inspired by listening to Bruce Springsteen. Either that or his memory`s rubbish. In seven Premier League campaigns prior to this, Nolan has only accrued a significant goal tally in two. In 2003-4 he bagged twelve and in 2005-6 eleven. In other seasons he`s managed eight, one, four and two fives. Hardly Mr Prolific.

The full interview with the Captain will be published in Saturday`s match day programme. No doubt there`ll be some gushing praise for a certain Mr Megson. The relevant pages will be laminated. That way it will be easier to wipe the vomit off.

Hah! Well, at least he's stopped his online diary for the BBC which was a complete ruddy embarassment. I seem to remember that the Fiver enjoyed quoting from it as much as they did Tim Lovejoy's "book" which is quite an achievement.

i'm with nobby on this one! he'll bounce back and start banging it in again soon! performances have definately improved and it seems his fitness level also, but i think some of that extra energy comes from not mithering the ref as much! come on you whitemen!!!
