'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Redknapp : Bolton Fans are Evil

We`re not ones to dredge up the past on Vital Bolton. Actually, that`s a lie. We are. Especially, if there`s a juicy headline in it. Today`s Tottenham manager, Harry Redknapp, has a bit of previous, regarding Wanderers fans.

In 1995, Redknapp was the manager at West Ham, when they claimed a 3-0 victory at Burnden Park (Bolton's former home). He claimed that fans in the Manchester Road Terrace were a tad unkind to him.

'Blimey! I've never heard so much abuse on the touchline,` said honest 'Arry.

'These fans are wicked. They are the worst I've ever heard since I've been around football. What makes people behave like that?

'As soon as we sat down, we were were being called effing dirty so-and-sos. We hadn't even started. That's not what football's about, surely.

'We go to Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United and you have a laugh and a bit of banter with the fans but you couldn't have a laugh with that lot sitting behind the bench. It was frightening, horrible.`

Some might say the last two words of that sentence, describe Mr Redknapp. Not us of course. We`re far too nice for that.

It says a lot about Redknapp that he has absolutely no loyalty to the fans of the team he manages, or to the players he has brought to his teams. Flash the cash at him and he's off, no messing about. But he is the sort of manager Spuds need. He'll get more from their better players and he is a wiz in the transfer market. But he has one of Ramos's weaknesses as well. He can't speak English to save his life... He would probably need an interpreter for the Bolton accent.

Errrr, Redknapp also had something offish to say recently about Spurs fans. It had something to do with that Sol Campbell fellow ...

True. As mentioned in another article on this site.

Very biased and petty article.

'These fans are wicked. They are the worst I've ever heard since I've been around football. What makes people behave like that? I think he said the same about Aston Villa last season and Spurs this season. I suspect next season the Harry Redknapp "your filth" Award will be presented to Arsenal.
