'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Scraping the Bottom of the Barrel

International breaks are a nuisance. Twelve members of Bolton`s squad are away and if the past is anything to go by, the team performance will suffer when they get back. There`s not much excitement with the England team either, as they face the might of Kazakhstan and Belarus. Not even Steven Gerrard & Co can mess that one up.

So, there`s not much to read about. Fortunately, the official site is on hand to provide a behind the scenes look at a little publicised area. Is Gary Megson spilling the beans about the Wanderers training methods? Maybe Phil Gartside is speaking of his admiration for Daily Mirror muppet Alan Nixon. Or could it be Kevin Nolan`s diet tip of the week?

No, it`s none of those things. Instead there`s a video of Club Chaplain Phil Mason talking about his role at Bolton Wanderers, from a religious boot camp at Lilleshall. Fascinating stuff. That`s sure to get the punters rushing to purchase a subscription to Wanderers World. Tomorrow, Doris the Cleaner reflects on the problems of keeping the Reebok Stadium spic and span.

Kazakhstan, Belarus, Monaco and the Faroe Islands should all be popped into a little league and only one from each mini league should qualify for the actual tournament qualification. German, Italy and England should not be wasting time having to travel Europe for pointless matches.

I actually disagree........these "little" countries have come on in leaps and bounds since being able to play top country teams over the last 10 years or so.....
