Reebok Stadium to be Renamed

After ten years of successful sponsorship, Bolton Wanderers Football Club is to sever links with Reebok, a company that was founded in the town. Doubts were cast over the deal, which includes the naming rights to the Bolton`s stadium, when Reebok was taken over by Adidas. The parent company now wishes to concentrate its marketing efforts in the United States and has also cancelled shirt sponsorships with a number of other football clubs.

Negotiations with a number of companies have taken place over the past few months and it has been decided that Patak`s, a local manufacturer of Indian food will be granted naming rights. From July 2009 Bolton will play their home games at the Patak`s Middlebrook Stadium and a friendly match with Bengal Mumbai FC has been arranged to commemorate the event.

Patak`s was acquired by Associated British Foods in May 2007, which also owns Sunblest bread, Silver Spoon sugar, Twinings tea, Ovaltine and Primark. It is thought that as part of the deal, season ticket holders will receive vouchers enabling them to purchase cheap food and clothing. There will also be the opportunity to purchase a range of filled naan breads at half-time in addition to the usual menu of pies and hot dogs.
